There are hints of faces in this stone, but what catches the eye are the red and white markings which remind me of pictographs found around the world.
The figures in the last three photos are similar to ones in pictographs found in Northern Ontario: 1) a human figure with outstretched hand holding something and 2) what looks like a four-legged animal although it only shows two legs.
Given the fact that there aren't any caves or rock cliffs in our area, it makes sense that early man would use what was readily available: smaller rocks. I would suggest that the impulse to draw these figures was likely the same; it's just the canvas that is different.
